Russian troops have killed an American journalist collaborating with the New York Times in a shooting in Irbine, west of Kiev, police said this Sunday (03.13.2022). The capital of Ukraine on its Facebook page.

The country’s parliament confirmed the incident on its Twitter account, which showed photos of the victim, the cameraman said.

“(Russian) invaders are cynically killing even international media journalists who try to show the truth about the atrocities of Russian troops in Ukraine,” said Kiev police chief Andrei Nepitov.

“Today, a 51 – year – old reporter for the world – famous New York Times was shot dead in Irfin. Another journalist was injured. At present, they are trying to remove the victim from the war zone,” Nepidov wrote on Facebook.

Cliff Levy, one of the people in charge of the New York newspaper, expressed his deep sadness when he learned of the death of “an American journalist in Ukraine” on Twitter, describing him as “a talented photographer and filmmaker”. .
