Now the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo goes international, with its first ever foray into Asia, entering another global financial hub, Hong Kong.
The locally well identified and epitomizing, kangaroo impressed upon the logo, will now have an international presence. Becoming a registered local entity in Hong Kong will also open doors to other export markets like US, China, Singapore, Korea and India.
The Australian Made, Australian Grown logo – the famous green and gold kangaroo – is now a registered trademark in Hong Kong. The symbol now will be a stamp of Australian authenticity with legal repercussions in case of duplication under Hong Kong laws. This purely Australian protected logo with be an identifier for all things Australian. This is a big step for Australia in the international trade market, designating exclusivity and genuineness to its products. This is also its first strategy since signing the Australia-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement (A-HKFTA) and the associated Investment Agreement on 26 March 2019.
This also, cements, strengthening trade ties between Australia and Hong Kong. Last year alone Australia, exported almost $11.4 billion worth of merchandise to Hong Kong.
The Australian makers and growers largely benefit from this move. With their market size exponentially increasing. The logo is a promise of clean, green and untarnished produce from the Australian bounty associating Australian products with quality, culture and industry.
The logo will cover cleaning products, soaps, toiletries, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, veterinary pharmaceuticals, infant formula, baby products, furniture, clothing and footwear, food and beverages, including alcoholic and other retail services.
This is an extension of Australia’s retails expansion plan, with transcending boundaries and truly internationalizing its trade.
